(5)… Edit application.ini file (you might need admin privileges) and modify "Version=2.9.91.411" to "Version=2.99.99.999" Using Windows Explorer, navigate toĬ:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul (32 bit Windows)Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\TomTom HOME 2\xul (64 bit Windows) Ie, un-check the 'Run Home' tick box when installation completes (2)… Download last "good" version 2_9_91_411 from. You can create a story from the best parts of your recordings on a big screen by using the TomTom Bandit Studio app for Windows and Mac. (Mabe usefull for End of Life TomtomDevices with No further map or other updates) Modify Tomtom Home to use older version of tomtom Home. Using this option you will be running a modified version 2_9_91_411 that doesn't call for the latest problematic update to be installed Since it involves a big 'code' update of the program, it has been decided to roll it out in stages. This release is to enable 64bit compatibility and it will be offered only to users with a Windows 10 system who have an EOL device. I can install all of the updates that Tomtom allow for my EoL NAV2 Start device. TomTom HOME 2.11.8 is supposed to be lastest for the Windows 10. I opened the download folder and clicked on version 2.Īnd thats it, it installed and updated my satnav which is now sporting the latest "mapshares" and the latest "Quick GPfix" version. I fired up TomTom Home clicked on the "critical update" link and as soon as I saw the file download had finished, I closed the program via "Task Manager" I had my TomTom in its updating cradle connected to the PC. The above is just to show you how I got to where I am now. Now that installed version 2.11.8.600 was sporting the earlier doctored application.ini file to Version 2.9.99.999 so that alteration to the application.ini file altered nothing. I was at the point where I had installed on my PC TomTom version 2.11.8.600 which if you attempted to run it, it insists you update to version 2. Right, after my two attempts to fix the problem as outlined in my 6.02pm post. It is not the fix YamFazMan suggested but because of YamFazMan's input it led me to finding the fix, so big thanks for that YamFazMan. I will now explain what I actually did, its easy really, you will kick yourselves. I'm still happy with the TomTom ONE as a standalone device, but their support for OSX users is inexcusable.Right I have finally cracked it and I am running and able to access version 2. (To date, I've never gotten any mapshare correction updates!) It directs me to the update page, which after a minute says that everything is up to date. Also on the main home page, it tells me that my MapShare updates are out of date (which they are), however it won't let me update the MapShare corrections. Some of the new Home program works, but more often than not, the updater fails. (If they can't figure out how to make the computer-gps control work out, they should make it possible to password protect the gps from within.) Still no computer control of my TomTom ONE LE, just an error that says "this feature is not supported by your device or operating system." This means that it is not possible for me to password protect the gps. The programs installer is commonly called TomTomHOME.exe, Uninstall TomTom HOME.exe, TomTomHOME2winlatest2.exe, TomTomHOME2winlatest.exe or TomTomHOME3.exe etc. The most popular versions among the program users are 2.20, 2.9 and 2.8. This Version, 2.2.0.16, works somewhat, however some things don't work at all. The 22.101.0006 version of TomTom HOME is available as a free download on our software library. When I want to update the maps, TT Home needs to remove the old map first end than it freezes. When I connect the SD card of my TomTom Carminat (Renault) it is recognized, I can make a backup etc. Well, it's better than the old version, which was well outdated even last year. I run the latest version (just updated) of TomTom Home on a Win10/64 PC.
